Is the process geared towards the election?

Having reached the end of its first phase with the dissolution of the PKK and the laying down of arms, the process is being discussed more in terms of regional and domestic political calculations than a democratic solution. Erdoğan’s emphasis that ‘it is impossible to time it’ reinforces the likelihood that the process will be linked to the elections, whilst rhetoric from the Kurdish movement is also fuelling the debate.
